Vacancy: Operations Field Lead
FULL TIME, FIXED TERM UNTIL 2025

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT WILL REPORT TO THE PREDATOR FREE PROJECT MANAGER, AND WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Establishing and managing predator control operations within the predominantly rural and backcountry area of the Halo Project’s new expansion.
Establishing and maintaining relationships with landowners, key stakeholders and interest groups within the expansion area.
Leading, motivating and supervising other project personnel (staff, contractors and volunteers), to help achieve the project’s Predator Free goals.
Ensuring predator control data is recorded in the database and will report on this and on other important events and achievements as required.
Establish and manage monitoring operations, as required.
Helping the team to improve the effectiveness and performance of the project.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL, YOU WILL NEED TO:
Be physically fit
Experienced and comfortable undertaking work safely in remote and rugged terrain
Possess strong technical knowledge of predator control and monitoring
Ability to work under minimal supervision
Be able to implement field-based operations in a strategic and methodical manner
Have a good knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements
Good communication skills with an ability to relate to a range of people
Have sound computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office; and
Have a full driver’s licence and own vehicle (project vehicles available most of the time)
PREFERABLY, YOU WILL ALSO:
Have experience in conservation field work, preferably within a New Zealand context.
Have experience leading and supervising field teams.
GIS experience.
Firearms licence, 4WD training and CSL an advantage
