Source to Sea planting days at Wharewerawera/Long Beach!

We’re stoked to be prepping for this year’s planting season, with seedlings looking healthy and ready to go, we’re eager to recruit volunteers to help make Ōtepoti the epic future forest of our dreams.

The first planting day of the season is a doozy, it’s a picnic and planting day as part of Wild Dunedin. We’re providing delicious free-range and/or vegan sausages at all of our weekend planting days, but for this one we encourage you to bring your whānau, a picnic blanket, and get ready for some last of the Summer wine beachside relaxing with a side of trees.

Here are the dates of our upcoming planting days:

Sat 22 April (Wild Dunedin Picnic + Planting Day)

Sat 6 May

Tue 9 May

Sun 14 May

Wed 31 May

Tue 20 June

Our planting days run from 10am - 3pm at the DOC reserve on Beach Road (click here for the map) and we will provide all the tools you need. It’s important to wear closed-in shoes and to bring appropriate clothing for the weather. If you want to be updated about cancellations, or to guarantee your sausage, please contact us via this link.

If you have a community or business group that could do with some ‘you time’ or team-building please reach out and we can arrange a day for you.

Ka mihi nui ki a koutou.
