Source to Sea Field Supervisor

Are you passionate about contributing to conservation?

Do you have experience in leading a field team?

Do you have good knowledge of weed control, planting and plant maintenance for effective habitat restoration?

About the role

Reporting to the Source to Sea Project Manager, you will be responsible for:

·         Organising, leading and motivating a team of six to deliver habitat restoration

·         Organising and overseeing the field team’s training and skill development programme

·         Day-to-day liaison with landowners, working to landowner agreements and restoration plans

·         Helping the team to improve the effectiveness and performance of the project.

 

We are looking for applicants who:

·         Are inspiring leaders who are adaptable and innovative

·         Have experience in conservation field work, preferably within a New Zealand context

·         Have successful staff management and training experience

·         Are excellent communicators with an ability to relate to a range of people

·         Possess strong technical knowledge of habitat restoration and monitoring, and have the ability to impart this knowledge

·         Hold a full, clean NZ Drivers Licence.

 

Preferably, applicants will also:

·         Sound knowledge and experience working with NZ Health and Safety legislation

·         Have sound computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office

·         Be a competent user of GIS

·         Hold tertiary qualifications in fields relating to conservation, ecology or science.
