Vacancy: Predator Free Project Coordinator
Full time, fixed term from June 2021 to October 2023
Do you have good knowledge of predator control management, tools and techniques for effective control?
Are you passionate about contributing to conservation?
Do you have experience in and enjoy managing volunteers?
We are seeking applicants who have strong community activation skills and/or a strong rural focus to round out our team of experienced predator management specialists.
The successful applicant will report to the Predator Free Project Manager, and will be responsible for:
Establishing and managing predator control operations within rural and/or residential areas of the Halo Project area
Establish and manage monitoring operations
Leading, motivating and growing a group of skilled and committed volunteers, to help achieve the project’s Predator Free goals
Ensuring trap catch data is recorded in the database and will report on this and on other important events and achievements as required
Helping the team to improve the effectiveness and performance of the project.
To be successful, you will need to:
Be physically fit
Possess technical knowledge of predator control and monitoring
Be able to implement field-based operations in a strategic and methodical manner
Have a good knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements
Be an excellent communicator with an ability to relate to a range of people
Have sound computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office
Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Have a full drivers licence and own car (project has a pool vehicle, which is available time to time).
Hold a valid NZ work visa.
